Terms and Conditions

  • All quotations are valid for three months from the date of quotation.
  • A deposit of £5.00 per head is required to confirm any booking. For small events we may request a nominal deposit at our discretion.
  • Settlement of the balance is payable 10 days prior to the event with confirmation of the final guest numbers.
  • All prices quoted are based on the information provided by the client at the beginning of the quotation process. Confirmation of guest numbers must be given 10 days prior to the event along with menu choices, equipment requirements and any other information that may affect the overall quotation. All figures will be amended accordingly taking into account any funds that we have received.
  • Bon Viveur Catering has full public and employee liability insurance (10,000,000) and our certificate is available upon request.
  • Bon Viveur Catering is fully EHO inspected and has been awarded a 5 star hygiene rating by AVDC certificate available on request.
  • Bon Viveur Catering will make all reasonable efforts to perform their obligations but shall not be liable for any delay or other failure as a result of factors outside our control.
  • We are happy to advise on electricity/gas/water/lighting requirements but do not accept responsibility for problems due to power failure or faulty equipment used by the client or supplied by other companies.
  • Bon Viveur Catering cannot be held responsible for the safety and quality of any food and drink supplied directly by the client or any other organisation.
  • No liability is accepted by Bon Viveur Catering for the failure of performance due to accidents, fire, flood and obstruction by any ‘acts of God’ or any such event beyond the control of the company.
  • As part of our service we will try to undertake a site visit to determine access, layout and venue facilities. Additional charges may apply for additional site visits requested by the client and for any additional cooking equipment required to produce the menu if the venue is not suitably equipped. These charges will be made clear on our quotation.
  • Staffing costs will vary depending on the style of event and level of service required. All our staff are professional, experienced and well trained. An additional charge for staff may be made if an event is delayed or runs over the agreed time for staff to finish as a result of factors outside the company’s control.
  • Deposit payments are non – refundable. In the event of cancellation by the client the full deposit will be charged.
  • Bon Viveur Catering reserve the right to cancel any booking if the agreed payment terms are not met by the client as laid out in these terms and conditions.
  • Bon Viveur Catering reserve the right to change or substitute menu items due to seasonality and availability.
  • Hired equipment delivered to any location (private house, dwelling or clients nominated venue) shall remain the responsibility of the client from delivery until collection. Any breakages, loss or damage to hired equipment caused directly by the client or clients guests will be charged to the client at full replacement cost.
  • It is the client’s responsibility to clear food waste, bottles, cardboard, plastic and any other waste from the site. Bon Viveur Catering will bag or box waste and leave it in an area agreed in advance.
  • All tables and chairs need to be in position prior to our arrival and arranged as per the table plan provided to us.
  • We will not accept responsibility for the cleaning of a venue or marquee. Whilst we will endeavour to ensure that the area is as clear as possible from food and drink waste we will not sweep, mop or vacuum the venue at the end of the event.
  • Bon Viveur Catering reserve the right to dispose of any leftover food at the end of the event especially if the food has been on a buffet table hot or cold for 4 hours or more as per health and safety guidelines. If the client requires left over food to be kept for their own personal consumption after the event Bon Viveur Catering cannot be held responsible for any consequences arising from the consumption of this food. Our responsibility for this food ceases once the food has been removed from the buffet table/serving area and is not disposed of.
  • When food is delivered to a client’s home or nominated venue by Bon Viveur Catering using the company’s serving platters, dishes and bowls any breakages, damage such as cracks or chips and losses will be charged to the client at full replacement cost.
